Creative and comfortable: MEININGER Hotel Leipzig Hauptbahnhof receives the German Design Award 2019 in the Architecture category for its interior design concept
Berlin, January 23, 2018 - Leipzig is world-famous for its artistic dynamism. No wonder that hotels in the Saxon metropolis also rely on creative design. The German Design Council has now recognized the MEININGER Hotel Leipzig Hauptbahnhof at the German Design Awards 2019: The hotel, which is particularly popular with families, received the "Special Mention" award from the jury for its interior design.
Spend the night in a work of art
The hotel, which opened in 2017, opted for the motto "Art in Progress" for its interior design. The result is an inhabitable installation in which guests themselves become the protagonists. "In Leipzig, the art of the city moves and shapes us," explains Sebastian Kiy, Operations Manager of the MEININGER Hotel Leipzig Hauptbahnhof. "We have taken this 'art in progress' as our theme at the hotel and, with a creative mix of shapes and colors, have created a work of art - perhaps not yet fully completed - in which our guests play the leading role."
Family hotel in the center of Leipzig
